Every feature in Inkweaver comes from a plugin, from moving through the story to drawing a scene. That includes the features we built ourselves.

Bundled plugins

Every new novel includes a set of bundled plugins. Together, they read your screenplay, draw your artwork, play your cues, and keep track of the reader’s progress.

That’s everything you need to tell a complete story. Whether your novel is kinetic, running straight from start to finish, or branching, with choices that open different routes, you can make it without writing a plugin.

What’s in a plugin

Plugins come as bottles: archive files with the .inkb extension. When Inkweaver builds your novel, it unpacks each bottle into your workspace as if its files had been there all along.

That means a plugin can hold anything your workspace can. Along with code, a plugin might include character PSDs, part of a screenplay, or music.

Installing a plugin

Save the .inkb file anywhere in your workspace. Inkweaver picks it up automatically.

Building your own
