Manhwa

The manhwa plugin is an alternative way to author a novel. Instead of driving the story from a screenplay, it delivers the story incrementally, straight from your PSDs.

Today, the novel plugin pairs a screenplay with artwork: the screenplay is the spine of the story, and PSDs supply the scenes and characters it references. That’s a natural fit for dialogue-driven visual novels. But it’s not how every story is made.

Manhwa, the long, vertically-scrolling Korean webcomic format, is drawn first. The art is the story, laid out panel by panel, and the words live inside the artwork rather than in a separate script. Asking an artist working this way to also maintain a parallel screenplay would mean doing the work twice.

The manhwa plugin removes that second step. It reads the story directly from your PSDs and presents it incrementally, panel by panel and page by page, so you can build and ship a story as a sequence of artwork with no screenplay to keep in sync.
